Following are features of an ABA Provincial Race:

  • event placement on ABA calendar, promotion of event by ABA
  • rider levy collected as per policy
  • commissaires assigned, commissaire honoraria paid by ABA
  • category upgrading points available (if applicable)
  • Alberta Cup points available (if applicable)
  • insurance coverage via race being open only to holders of UCI licenses, ABA Citizen licenses, or, purchase of Commercial Event Insurance (ABA Single Event License policy applies)

Club Race Sanction

Organizers of ABA Club races must demonstrate permission to use their designated venue, and must comply with ABA Organizers’ policies and applicable UCI, CCA, and ABA Regulations. Following are features of an ABA Club Race

  • 1 commissaire (not assigned by ABA)
  • no provincial upgrading points or Alberta Cup points awarded
  • no rider levy collected
  • event placement on ABA calendar, promotion of event by ABA
  • $50 calendar fee levied for each race or series
  • insurance coverage via PTSO coverage:
    • If events are part of an overall series, podiums or timed results participants must be holders of UCI license or Alberta Provincial Citizen licenses.
    • Participants who are at the Community Level Membership may participate in midweek series if the event is classified as a "training event" with no results, podiums or series standings. The "training" classification ensures sport accident and general liability coverage.
