The Alberta Bicycle Association is pleased to announce the hiring of Philippe Abbott in the role of Provincial Head Coach. Philippe is a former elite level cyclist, and has been working as a professional cycling coach at the Cycling Center Calgary for the past 4 years. Philippe began coaching after four years of competing on national and professional cycling teams. He has moved from athlete to coach in the last 5 years, and during this time coached athletes to the top of the podium at National and Pan American Championships. Philippe has coached athletes from 14 up to 25 years of age across all three cycling disciplines Track, Road, and MTB.
The ABA Provincial Head Coach is responsible for the following areas: Athlete Development, Provincial Team program, and Coaching Development including coordination of the National Coaching Certification Program. Mr. Abbott will perform this role as a contractor, and will continue to coach several of Alberta’s top developing cyclists in his role as High Performance Coach at the Cycling Center Calgary.
