In an
effort to support Race Organizers and Commissaires, and produce better events,
the ABA has recently acquired some timing equipment and software – a component
of our new Edmonton and Calgary Race Trailers. The equipment purchased will
enhance the Finish Lynx camera the ABA currently owns, and also provide
organizers and commissaires of Mountain Bike, Cyclo-cross, and Road events with
tools to create fast, accurate, and professional race documents. Equipment and
software purchased is from Summit Timing and Zone4, and is suitable for all
Mountain Bike and Cyclo-cross races, in addition to Road Time Trials. In order
to familiarize folks with the equipment and software, the ABA will be hosting
two training sessions:
Where
and When:
Edmonton – Saturday, April 24th, 10am – 1 pm, Percy Page Centre
Calgary – Monday, April 26th, 6pm – 9pm, Bob Niven Training Centre
at Canada Olympic Park
Who
should come: Race
Organizers, Commissaires, Technical Delegates, Volunteers, anyone interested in
on-line registration and race timing!
What
will we learn? The
session will cover Zone4 online registration, followed by creating start lists,
timing a race, and producing results using Zone4 software and Summit timers.
Manual back-up timing will also be covered. Use of the Finish Lynx camera will
not be covered in these sessions – if you interested in learning about the
Finish Lynx system, please contact the ABA.
The
sessions will be led by Andy Holmwood, former ABA Technical Director and
current Timing Guy for Biathlon Alberta, and are offered to ABA members at no
cost. Please RSVP to heather@albertabicycle.ab.ca
