The CCA is seeking a volunteer manager to lead the 2009 National Downhill Team projects and advise on its programs. The Canadian Cycling Association (CCA) is the recognized authority by the UCI (Union Cycliste International) on all aspects of cycling in Canada, including BMX, Cyclo-Cross, Mountain Bike, Para-Cycling, Road and Track.
Task Description:
The manager is contributes in leading the 2009 National Program including projects to the Canadian rounds of the UCI World Cup, the World Championships, the manager will work with the CCA mountain bike coordinator on selection criteria, selections as well as logistics. The CCA will cover the cost for the Manager’s travel, accommodation and per diem.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge in MTB and
experience managing cycling teams at the domestic and international levels. The
successful candidate will have the ability to make recommendations regarding all
aspects of logistics, selections, and to manage a team of espoir/U23 and senior elite athletes during the 2009 Downhill MTB season. Strong consultative, facilitation and decision-making skills are required. The ability to communicate in both official languages is a key asset.
