Cochrane, AB – The roads at the outskirts of Cochrane will be alive with the Alberta
Road Race Championships on Sunday August 16. Teams from around Alberta are expected to converge on Cochrane for this
prestigious event hosted by the Alberta Bicycle Association.
The race is
expected to attract close to 150 riders
ranging in age (18-65) and ability (Novice to Elite) vying for a shot to call
themselves Provincial Champion.
Racing will start at 10:00 AM at Weedon
Pioneer Hall and will take place on Weedon Trail to Horse
Creek, north 18.8 km on Horse Creek to township road 284, then trun around and
head south on Horse Creek to township road 262, to a second turn around. With riders going between 70 and 120
kilometres it should be a great venue for all abilities.
